About
Donald Trump was born in the New York City borough of Queens in 1946. He attended Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, earning an economics degree, and worked as a businessman and on television before entering politics. He has co-authored several book and owned Miss USA and Miss Universe pageants. He has five children and is married to this third wife, Melania Trump. In 2016, Trump ran in the election and became the 45th president, beating out Hilary Clinton. During his presidency, Trump has been criticized for his controversial actions such as: his withdrawal from the Paris Climate Agreement, his travel ban on citizens from several Muslim-majority countries, and his proposal to build a border wall between Mexico and the United States.

- Climate Change
Trump believes that climate change is not a pressing issue as it “changes both ways.” He has stated that he does not believe people to be the primary reason and has reversed climate change actions such as removing the United States from the Paris Climate Agreement, rescinding methane-flaring rules, and having the EPA loosen regulations on toxic air pollution.
- Healthcare
Trump aims to repeal the Affordable Care Act and in 2018 proposed the “American Patients First” Act. He also aims to lower prescription drug costs.
- Abortion
Whereas Trump used to advocate for pro-choice, he has become pro-life throughout his first election and present day.
- Social Security
Trump proposes a large social security cut.
- Education
Trump does not speak much on education but in the 2019 State of the Union address he said “to help support working parents, the time has come to pass school choice for America’s children.”
- Gun Control
Trump is a supporter of the second amendment and has given speeches for the NRA.
- Immigration
Trump has been very outspoken on his views of immigration. He aims to reduce the amount of immigration to the United States and wants to build a border wall.
- Taxes
Trump has a tax reform that passed in congress in 2017; it included tax cuts for both individuals and businesses.
- Criminal Justice
Trump supports the First Step Act, although he has received criticism for his plan to update hiring requirements that force people applying for a job to disclose whether or not they have been through a pretrial diversion program.
- LGBTQ Rights
Trump has recently promoted the LGBTQ community but in past has been against their expanding rights and imposed the transgender military ban.
- Foreign Policy
Trump aims to emphasize the United States standing amongst the other nations and wants to secure national security. He wants to form trade deals that strengthen the country’s economic base.
