About
Warren was born in Oklahoma City in 1949 into a middle class family. She was raised in a Methodist household and felt financial struggles in her family at age 11 after her father had a heart attack and could no longer work for a period and struggled to pay medical bills. She won a scholarship to George Washington University at the age of 16 but left after two years to marry her now divorced husband. She had two children with him and later remarried but kept her previous husband’s last name. Warren began her academic career at Rutgers University and moved to the University of Huston Law where she became an associate dean in 1980. She taught for a year at Harvard Law School in 1992. She has also taught of Rutgers University, University of Houston, University of Michigan, and University of Texas.

Warren supports the Green New Deal.
- Healthcare
Warren aims to create a healthcare system that co-exists with Obamacare, she advocates for one that is more affordable and protects employees from policy changes. This new system would be called The Consumer Health Insurance Protection Act.
- Abortion
Warren supports abortion and believes that Hyde Amendment is overly harsh.
- Social Security
Warren does not want to privatize social security and advocates that social security should not be cut, but expanded.
- Education
Warren aims to cancel debt for higher education and eliminate tuition.
- Gun Control
Warren advocates for stricter guns laws yet acknowledges the rights given through the second amendment. In the wake of multiple shooting, she has pushed to ban assault weapons and gun shows.
- Immigration
Warren aims to abolish ICE, implying that it does not reflect the moral of the country. She also has spoken against Trump on his policies that separated parents from their children, stating that the policies “need to focus on people that pose a real threat.”
- Taxes
Warren proposes a 2% tax raise on citizens with a net worth over $50 Million and an additional 1% on billionaires.
- Criminal Justice
Warren has stated that there must be a criminal justice reform but it cannot be done without addressing that racism is a large issue plaguing the system.
- LGBTQ Rights
Warren is pro LGBTQ Rights and aims to protect transgender people that recent policies have gone against. She believes that there should be protections for LGBTQ members in the workplace and that transitional surgeries are a medical right that should not be denied, even in prison.
- Foreign Policy
Warren aims to bring troops back home and limit the amount of money put into the military. She aims to reinvest in diplomacy and work peacefully with other nations.
