About
Castro was born in San Antonio, Texas in 1974 and has a twin brother that is a current US representative. His mother was a political activist and his father was a math teacher. Castro graduated from high school in 1992 and attended Stanford for his bachelors where he won a spot in student senate alongside his brother and went to Harvard Law School for his J.D. In 2001, Castro became part of the San Antonio City Council and he served as the mayor of San Antonio, Texas from 2009-2014. Castro was the youngest member of Obama’s cabinet, working as the secretary of housing development, from 2014-2017.
