Timothy Ryan was born July 16, 1973 to Rochelle Maria and Allen Ryan. He attended John F. Kennedy High School, playing on the football team and getting recruited to play for Youngstown State University. Although after suffering from an injury, he transferred to Bowling Green State University and earned bachelors in political science. He later continued his education at Franklin Pierce Law Center to receive his Juris Doctor. From January 2001- December 2002, Ryan was a part of the Ohio State Senate and since 2003 he has served in the House of Representatives for Ohio.

Ryan stresses the importance of reducing carbon emissions and the need for efficient energy.
- Healthcare
Ryan supports “Medicare for all” and also highlights the importance of recognizing mental health care.
- Abortion
Although Ryan was raised Irish Catholic and used to oppose abortion rights, he has changed his views in the past years and now completely supports the right of women to choose.
- Social Security
Ryan stresses the importance of social security and aims to expand its benefits.
- Education
Ryan states that higher education is a right for all Americans and thus supports free college tuition. He also introduced the Charter School Accountability Act which is meant to make charter schools more transparent.
- Gun Control
Altering his views after the multiple gun massacres, Ryan has now endorsed universal background checks, gun bans on terrorist watch list people, an age raise on certain gun purchases, and allowance of federal funding for research on gun violence cases.

Ryan opposes the wall and supports Dreamers.

Ryan does not support tax cuts.

Ryan supports mandatory body cameras for police and the reduction of drug crime sentences.
